From creation to reality in 100 years
Imagine the history of the planet condensed in a single century.
In the time scale corresponding to this leap of the imagination, the formation of the oldest known rocks began in the beginnings of the year 15, and life, in its most primitive form of bacteria and algae, appeared in the year 26.
Until the 1980s, during the period of continental drift, life evolved slowly, and only 8 years ago the first amphibians reached the beaches. The dinosaurs dominated three years ago but died out the following year.
Three weeks ago the first man appeared in Africa, using utensils and walking erect.
The last Ice Age ended 2 hours ago, the Industrial Revolution started two minutes ago ... and eight seconds ago the man hit the Moon.
