Central Bank of Canada asks Star Trek fans to stop drawing Spock on 5
The Central Bank of Canada has officially asked Star Trek fans to stop drawing Spock on five-note notes.
The art is called the Spocking Five and involves the transformation of former Prime Minister Wilfrid Laurier into Spock, altering his hair, ears and eyebrows.
This art is nothing new, but after the death of the actor Leonard Nimoy there was a significant increase in the scratched notes of five Canadian dollars as a form of homage of the Trekkies to the original actor of the Spock.
For this reason the Canadian BC issued a statement urging fans to stop shaving the five notes, which he called an attitude without logic
