Man arrested after attempting to immolate at White House



A man was arrested late Friday after attempting to immolate the White House in Washington D.C.


The man, whose identity has not yet been revealed, set fire to his coat and was immediately intercepted by agents of the Secret Service, the authority force operating in the official residence of the presidents of the United States.

The emergency services were called to the scene, having treated the man, who presented slight injuries.

According to USA Today, the man will have entered the perimeter of the White House in a motorized wheelchair before the attempted immolation. A "suspect package" was still found in the detainee's possession.

In the course of the operation to immobilize the man, the White House was closed, without entrance or exits of the place allowed. The incident happened around 3 pm local time.
